The Plateau of Tibet, also known as the Tibetan Plateau, is a broad and high plateau in southwestern China. To the southwest, lay the famous Himalaya mountains in the plateau, to the northwest lay the Kunlun Mountains and the Kalakunlun Mountains, in the middle lay the Gangdisi, Tanggula and Nyainqentanglha Mountains, and the east barrier of the plateau are the Hengduan Mountains.
